DEFLECT

With this work, Deflect is being used as a tool for self-protection. In this five panel piece each part gently holds and tightly wraps a broken mirror shard. The shard is sparsely obscured by the mostly gauzy wrapped exterior.  However when the viewer is facing the work it  leads to bounced light and the viewer's own reflection. Preventing any real entry, the piece visually and conceptually protects while also isolating the work.
