BROKEN

Broken is talking about the felt emotional and physical breakdown that is consuming the identity of New Orleans post Katrina. The visible scarring left in the aftermath of the hurricane has never fully healed. In Broken, the cut up chunks of plaster and foam, nearing extinction, barely exist together with the fragile safety net of the nylon stocking. When things break in New Orleans there is an abandonment of functionality leading to feelings of inevitable decay.
