SITTING DUCKS
Safety and security are rare in New Orleans and were exceedingly so after Hurricane Katrina. Sitting Ducks looks at the extreme vulnerabilities created during this time. In this work, the pieces are oriented tightly together in their effort to survive. Cocooned with gauze and wax and partially dipped in liquid gold leaf, there is a slight sense of added protection. However, the raw forms of the ceramic shards quietly hint at what is an underwhelming shred of safety.
